Spasmodic

Spasmodic was born through a melodic Death Metal band from Ludvika, Sweden, called Metaphor. It was in that band Johan Haglund, Tommy Haglund and Alex Högbom learned to know each other. Johan, Tommy and Alex wanted to go further with the more brutal sound but the rest of the band didn't agree. Metaphor was put to sleep due to different opinions between the members in the band.

In 2005, Johan, Tommy and Alex started the band Spasmodic together with Tobias Östlund (drums) and Fredrik Adolfsson (guitar). Together they recorded the demo "Soon To Be Lacerated". After a couple of years Tobias and Fredrik was replaced by Jimmy Holmgren (drums) and Micke Persson (guitar) to begin the work with the "Carve Perfection" demo. During the music/song writing they also did some random live shows and completed two minor tours across Sweden. When they finally made it to the studio they replaced Micke with Johan Kvastergård (guitar). Now their music is more violent and brutal than ever.

In 2009, Spasmodic were booked for a tour across Finland and Sweden, together with the Finnish band Retaliatory Measures.

In 2010, they entered the studio with a bunch of new material, to create their third demo "Mondo Illustrated". The Legendary Masse Broberg a.k.a Emperor Magus Cligula from the Swedish black metal band Dark Funeral came along and contributed with some writing of lyrics and sang a couple of songs himself. During the recording, the Swedish record company Emrinc wanted to ink a deal on their old demo "Carve Perfection", resulting in a four-track EP that was released 16th of September 2010 worldwide.
